Sheer Beauty

Sheer beauty,
sheer beauty,
my soul deep within.
Covered by doubt,
I grow a thick skin.
Pray no one hurts me,
hope no one gets in.
Sheer beauty,

I tremble and hide.
It's unsafe to cry out,
tuck deeper inside.
Remember the pain,
drops of blood as they dried.

pure beauty,

Your light shines on my heart.
Reach toward the brilliance,
Break the darkness apart.
Reveal an absolute pureness
of love as it starts.
Sheer beauty,
sweet beauty,
Your love opens my heart.

Touched by the brightness,
the healing begins.
I'm uncertain, at first,
of the warmth on my skin.

    It reminds me of those affirmations people use all the time for positive thinking. I loved the cadence of it, the innocence, hopeful and jaded at the same time.
