Shattered



Shattered

Lethal injection,
to stop a beating heart,
shattered mine like glass.

My decision-
to end the life
of my sweet friend.

I hold myself accountable.

    oh my..that's not easy..we had to do this to our dog...and my heart was bleeding..

    this is heavy...to bear responsibility for friends death...i imagine it to be a brutal thing...and you accomplished it in so few words here...

    Powerful prose. I'm sorry for your loss. While I don't equate animals to people, they are still part of our lives and families. And to many of us, they are our best friends.
